New Years is all about renewing yourself, right? Well, the same should go for your makeup bag. It’s important to update your makeup bag now and then and throw out all old and crusty shadows, dry mascaras and cakey brushes. You’d be surprised how much bacteria lingers in your makeup bag. Below are some important tips.

*Not only do your shadows and powder blushes create bacteria, they will dry out after a while and look cakey on your skin. Get new shadows after a few months.

*If you have half-used lipsticks, put them all in lip palette. It will save you some space and will be easier to find the color you are looking for.

*Clean your makeup brushes weekly. There are tons of great makeup brush cleaners out there.

*Get a new mascara every other month. Switching out mascaras often will eliminate the risk of bacteria.

Also, here are my absolute top must-have products that should always be in your makeup bag: Black mascara, Tweezer, A clear lipgloss, Lightweight moisturizer, Hand sanitizer, Bronzer, Eyelash curler, Lipbalm, Tinted moisturizer.
