Here at Beauty Blabber we’re already thinking New Years! What to wear/what not to wear, but one thing’s for certain, you need the perfect smoky eye to compliment your smokin’ hot New Years Eve dress. Jessica Stam (pictured above) worked the smoky eye this past week in NYC and looked glamorous.
Let us show you exactly how to get that look so you can celebrate New Years in style!
*Start out choosing what color smoky eye you want. Of course, there’s black, but remember that a grey/silver, brown or even plum colored smoky eye also looks great.
*Next, take the deep color and apply it on your lid as evenly as you can. Gently brush it up to the crease and blend!
*Take the same color and apply it to the lash line and gently blend it down depending on how intense you want the smoky eye to look.
*Next, apply a dark liner in the upper lashline and smudge it out.
*Now, take an eyepencil and apply it in the inner line of the eye and blend it out to the lash line.
*Curl your lashes with a good eyelash curler like Shu Uemura, and apply two coats of black mascara to both your upper and lower lashes.
Voila! You’re ready to bring in 2008!

Fall is not just about trading in your flower dress for that wool dress or those short shorts for those wide legged jeans. There’s also new makeup trends and Beauty Blabber is here to show you what the latest is for Fall.
Lina’s three favorite new Fall makeup trends:
*Gray Smoky Eyes– I love smoky eyes, and it’s a sure way to look sexy and cool. But the basic black smoky eye can get a bit boring sometimes, and if you have pale skin I personally think black eyeshadow is way too dark. (I’m not such a big fan of the panda look.). Well, the latest trend is gray smoky eyes. We saw alot of it on the runway in Paris and Milan and now many fashionistas are sporting that look as well. Below are our favorite gray eyeshadows.

Bare Escentuals Meet The Stones ($32)

Vincent Longo Wet Diamond Eyeshadow in Concerto ($24)
*Dark Lips-- I wouldn’t necessarily wear dark lips with a smoky eye, but it looks great if you keep the eye makeup natural. Just make sure you don’t go too dark. A crimson red or a burgundy color can look amazing. Below are some of my favorite dark lipsticks.

Shiseido The Makeup Sheer Gloss Lipstick in S4 ($22)

KLS Sheer Lipstick in Hibiscus ($7)
*Matte Skin– The dewy skin look has been popular for so long and I personally love it for summer. But as fall is approaching, I like a more matte-looking base. Get a matte look by applying a mattifying gel or primer. Below are a couple shine-off items I keep in my makeup kit.

Becca Mattifying Primer ($35)

Boscia Fresh Blotting Linens ($10

Stila Cosmetics is known for not only having great makeup, but they also have some of the best packaging on the market. Vibrant colors, flowers, sketches — you name it and they’ve done it masterfully. I’ve often wondered how they could possibly top themselves. Well, they just did. Stila is now introducing: TALKING MAKEUP!
Stila’s new smoky eye palette not only offers four fab shades, it also tells you how to do the perfect smoky eye…literally. By pressing the button on the inside lid of the compact, a voice appears that talks you through the process step by step. If you’re hard of hearing, it also comes with written instructions. This item is so hot that it’s currently sold out in stores. But, you can purchase it right now on the Stila website (it retails for $40). Ladies, this is a must-have! The hologram eye on the cover of the kit is worth the purchase alone.
Now, if the other makeup in your purse starts talking to you and it doesn’t have this feature, you definitely need a consultation, but not the cosmetic kind.
